Riley & Co. and The Sugar Ray Leonard Foundation present The 4th Annual “Big Fighters, Big Cause” Charity Fight Night to benefit The Sugar Ray Leonard Foundation in its support for Juvenile Diabetes Research and The Wounded Warrior Project. This prestigious invitation-only Red Carpet event will take place at The Santa Monica Pier on May 21, 2013.

Tommy Davidson will be the Master of Ceremony for the evening, which will feature a PROAM fight card commissioned by the California State Athletic Commission and USA Boxing. Songstress Franchesca Robi (daughter of The Platters Paul Robi) will sing the National Anthem to ring in the fights. The fight card will consist of amateur and professional heavyweight bouts.

The event anticipates a targeted audience of over 1000 guests, comprised of C-suite executives from nearly 200 public companies across a range of sectors, leading institutional investors, high net worth individuals, financial services professionals, celebrities, sports legends, and other high-profile individuals.

Zota Pop, a Top 40s band comprised of world-class musicians, will provide musical entertainment along with DJ BABY CHINO, the 10-year-old DJ phenomenon who has been seen on Nickelodeon’s hit show “Figure It Out”.

Rusnak, Maserati, BMW and Porsche, part of the Rusnak Auto Group is proud to support the Sugar Ray Leonard Foundation. Sugar Ray Leonard will honor Medtronic, Inc. by presenting an Award in the ring for its work in Juvenile Diabetes with the Insulin Pump. The Hauser Insurance Group is also a proud supporter of the cause. The evening will be set against a rich environment for both charitable and business development opportunities.

The lovely ladies from Crown Diva Boutique & Pageant Academy will sell raffle tickets throughout the evening, benefitting the cause. Guests will have the opportunity to win spectacular prizes. A true highlight of the evening will be the Charitable Live Auction. Also seit heute morgen habe ich so widerliche Halsschmerzen -.-
Noch nicht SO schlimm, hab auch noch keinen Husten aber es tut auch weh.
Also ich muss die ganze Zeit schlucken und trinken.

Morgen kommt mein Freund und schläft bei mir. Bis dahin will ich nicht mehr soviel Halsschmerzen haben. Gerade bin ich schon fleißig am Tee trinken und habe schon was eingenommen!

Gibt es noch andere Gute (Haus)Mittel dagegen?

Calling all lovers of tequila, Altamar Brands and The Bon Vivants kicked off the regional semi-finals of the third annual Viva Sangrita, Viva Tequila Ocho National Championship in the Northeast. The competition commenced Sunday, May 12 in Boston with the next stop on Tuesday, May 14 in New York City.

In April, over 170 contestants submitted recipes for the chance to compete in one of 8 regional competitions, and ultimately, for a chance to win the coveted VIVA SANGRITA VIVA TEQUILA OCHO National Title at “Tales of the Cocktail” in New Orleans this July.

On Sunday, May 12, the Boston Semi-finals occurred at Drink. Boston semi-finalists consisted of Jess Li, Sean Frederick, David Delaney, and Nick Korn of Citizen Public House and Oyster Bar as well as Ezra Star of Drink, John Henderson of Tavern Road, and Sophie Gees of Lone Star Taco Bar. Ezra Star with her Sangrita de Alga was crowned the Boston champion and will be competing in the Viva Sangrita, Viva Tequila Ocho finals this July in New Orleans.

On Tuesday, May 14, seven of New Yorks finest spirit epicureans will square off in the Viva Sangrita Tequila Ocho New York City Semi-Finals at Evelyn located at 171 Avenue C. The event occurs from 5 to 7:30 pm. New York semi-finalists consist of Phillip Kirschen-Clark, Lynnette Marrero, Josh Wortman, Brad Farran, Shannon Ponche, Christian Sanders, and J Rosser Lomax. Come out and choose your favorite Sangrita!

“Sangrita”, Spanish for little blood, is the traditional Jaliscan accompaniment to tequila. In its most traditional form, it is a pomegranate or tomato base, mixed with citrus juice and a spicy kick. Sangrita brings out the complexity of agave flavors in fine tequilas and transcends traditional drinking experiences. Sangrita perfectly complements Tequila Ocho. Meant to be enjoyed neat, Tequila Ocho is the first tequila to demonstrate that just like fine grapes, the concept of terroir exists in agaves.
