Vouchers – Each child gets a voucher. The parent can take the voucher and attend any public school they wish. If they choose, Private, the voucher is as good as cash as far as the private school is concerned. If you home school, the voucher is worthless.

It would clog the better schools and lower the standards there. I am not saying that poorer people who cannot afford a great private school are stupid but many actually stupid people would fill the good schools thinking it would make them smart. Larger classes are harder to teach thus lower the education received.

It wouldn’t work. The problem is that there is already more demand than there is supply for good private schools. In big cities there are 3 – 10+ applicants per space, with most of those kids being qualified. So what would happen is, sleazy people would open up crappy private schools in places like motels just to get the voucher $ $ . There are already schools like this that feed off parents’ fear. Sad.
