Their business offered for sale items that falsely bore trademarks of Coach, Kate Spade, Dolce & Gabbana, Chanel classical bag, Dooney & Bourke, Prada, Tiffany & Co. and others. The purses and other items were sold throughout central Illinois, including at various businesses, home parties, through the mail, and at a warehouse in Argenta owned by Nein.

They admitted that they traveled to Chicago and New York regularly to purchase inventory that they advertised as “replica/knockoff” and stated that all references to brands were for “entertainment and novelty purposes only” and “these companies are not affiliated with us in any way.”Musician Sophie Auster, 25, scored the invitation of a lifetime — to a Karl Lagerfeld-masterminded, totally over-the-top Chanel wallets show. ”Here’s how it happened.”, Sophie tells me, ”I’m a musician (my new album, Red Weather, comes out this fall), and when the Chanel belts folks heard me play in New York, they invited me to be a guest at the resort 2013 fashion show, held just outside of Paris at, get this, Versailles.”

Sophie’s reaction to sitting front row at Chanel’s extravagant show? ”I know that fashion really is art.
